Terms of Service
Tied Notes provides informational relationship coaching and memory journaling tools.
If you or someone else may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. In the US, you can also call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). If you are elsewhere, contact your local emergency number or crisis line. Do not attempt to get emergency care through Tied Notes. It is not an emergency or medical service.
1. Service Description
Tied Notes is a relationship coach and memory journal for relationships you are already in. It helps you capture memories about partners (with your approval before lasting saves), get personalized coaching guidance, draft messages for your own review, manage reminders, and run structured relationship assessments.
Tied Notes is not an AI companion, virtual partner, dating marketplace, matchmaking service, or social discovery network. There is no public feed and no stranger matching.
Features include:
- AI chat — conversations that may propose memory candidates
- Memory management — view, edit, approve or reject candidates, and delete stored facts; context is kept per partner
- AI messenger — draft messages with skill shortcuts, for you to review before sending
- Dated events and reminders — under Memory → Events
- Relationship assessments — structured in-app questionnaires
Tied Notes is in development. Pre-release versions are provided for testing, may be incomplete, and may change before launch.
2. Your Responsibilities
- You are at least 18 years old
- You will not use the service for unlawful, abusive, or infringing content
- You are responsible for securing your device and sign-in credentials
- You will not attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service
By using the service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
3. AI Disclaimer
- AI output is informational only — not professional therapy, legal, medical, or licensed mediation advice
- AI may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate — use your own judgment
- Memory candidates and extracted facts may be wrong; approve, correct, or delete them in-app
- You decide whether to send any drafted message to a real person
Use of a third-party AI provider requires a separate in-app permission described in the Privacy Policy (§3.1). You may revoke it anytime under Me → Preferences → AI data sharing. After revocation, new AI requests that would send that data to the provider are blocked until you allow again.
3.1 Safety and crisis resources
When our systems detect statements indicating a risk of suicide or self-harm, we aim to stop coaching-style responses and surface crisis resources, such as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline in the US and, where relevant, other local resources like domestic-violence hotlines.
4. Warranty Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.
5. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHELLVOX LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR $100 IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID US.
6. Subscriptions and Purchases
Paid features may be offered via Apple In-App Purchase. Subscriptions and entitlements may be managed with RevenueCat together with Apple’s billing systems. Prices, duration, and renewals are shown in-app before you buy. Payment, cancellation, and refunds are handled under Apple’s applicable terms and policies.
Unless we publish a custom EULA, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement may also apply if the app is distributed through the App Store, in addition to these Terms and Apple’s billing terms.
7. Account Management
- Sign-in — Sign in with Apple or Google
- Data copy requests — email [email protected] to request a copy of your data. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.
- Deletion — Me → Preferences → Account & data → Delete account (shortcut: Me → Trust & account → Delete account); we aim to remove associated primary data within approximately 30 days — see the Privacy Policy
- AI data sharing — Me → Preferences → AI data sharing (revoke / re-allow)
8. Intellectual Property
The app software, design, and Tied Notes branding belong to ShellVox LLC or its licensors. You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display that content solely to operate and provide the service as described in the Privacy Policy.
If you send us feedback or suggestions about Tied Notes, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use them to improve the service.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ShellVox LLC from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service in violation of these terms, or from content you submit that infringes someone else’s rights.
10. Service Changes and Termination
We may update features or suspend service for maintenance. You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may restrict accounts that violate these terms.
11. Changes to These Terms
Material updates will be communicated in-app and/or by other reasonable means. Where required by law, we will seek additional consent.
12. Governing Law and General Terms
The governing law and venue for these terms will be designated before Tied Notes is publicly available.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. We may assign these terms in connection with a merger or sale of the company.
